Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about OmniView.
General
What is OmniView?
▼
OmniView is a platform that automatically synchronizes crowd-filmed videos from live events into one interactive multi-camera viewer. Fans film with their own phones, and our sync engine aligns every video to sub-second precision — no editing required.
Who is OmniView for?
▼
Event organizers, festivals, concert venues, sports events, and anyone who wants to turn audience-filmed footage into a professional multi-camera experience. We also offer a B2B sync API for platforms that want to integrate synchronization into their own product.
How is this different from multi-cam editing software?
▼
Traditional multi-cam editing requires you to manually import, align, and cut between camera angles in software like Premiere or Final Cut. OmniView is fully automatic — videos are synced using audio fingerprinting, and viewers can switch between angles themselves in the interactive player. No editing skills needed.
How It Works
How does the audio sync work?
▼
Our engine extracts audio fingerprints from each video and cross-correlates them against a reference recording. This works regardless of camera position, device type, or recording quality. Videos are typically aligned within 50–200 milliseconds.
What file types are supported?
▼
- Videos — MP4, MOV, WebM, M4V, AVI, MKV
- Photos — JPG, PNG, HEIC, WebP
Upload directly from any phone or computer via the upload portal. Files can also be submitted programmatically via the API.
Do attendees need to install an app?
▼
No. Attendees open an upload link — shared as a QR code, email link, or through your event app — and upload their video directly through the browser. Works on any phone — no app download, no account required.
How long does syncing take?
▼
Most videos are synced within a few minutes after upload. The exact time depends on video length and server load. You can monitor sync progress in real time from your event dashboard.
What if a video can't be synced?
▼
If the audio quality is too low or the video doesn't overlap with the reference recording, the sync engine will report a low confidence score. You can still include the video and manually set its offset, or exclude it from the viewer.
For Event Organizers
How do I get started?
▼
Create a free account, set up your event, and share the upload link or QR code with your audience. Videos start syncing automatically as they come in. You can preview the result in the viewer at any time.
How do I embed the viewer on my website?
▼
Copy the embed code from your event dashboard and paste it into your website's HTML. The player is a standard <iframe> that works on any platform — WordPress, Squarespace, custom sites, etc. It's fully responsive and mobile-friendly.
Can I use OmniView for a multi-stage festival?
▼
Yes. On Pro plans and above, you can create Collections with multiple stages. Starter supports up to 3 stages, Pro up to 10, Business up to 50, and Enterprise has unlimited stages. Each stage gets its own reference track and sync timeline, and uploaded videos are automatically routed to the nearest stage via GPS. Videos are also automatically grouped by recording date — each day gets its own sync timeline.
How long are videos hosted?
▼
On the Free plan, videos are hosted for 30 days. On all paid plans (Starter, Pro, Business, Enterprise), your content is hosted for as long as your subscription is active. After the hosting period ends, videos and the viewer are archived. You can always download your data before that.
Privacy & Data
Is OmniView GDPR compliant?
▼
Yes. All data is hosted on EU servers. We offer full data export and account deletion from your account settings. We do not use third-party tracking or sell any data. See our
Privacy Policy for details.
Who owns the uploaded videos?
▼
The person who filmed the video retains full ownership. By uploading, they grant the event organizer a license to display the video within the OmniView viewer. We never claim ownership of uploaded content. See our
Terms of Service for details.
Can I delete my account and all data?
▼
Yes. Go to
My Events and use the "Delete Account" option. This permanently removes your account, all events, all uploaded videos, and all associated data. This action cannot be undone.
